Consumers demand compensation from telecom companies

The civil society has petitioned government and demanded compensation from telecommunications providers over poor quality services.

"We demand an end to the abuse of consumer rights," said Sam Wetasa, Executive Director Uganda Consumer Protection Association (UCPA), on behalf of Uganda's 17 million telephone services consumers. "We demand reasonable compensation for money charged unfairly and a refund for unsuccessful delivery of services."
